How it works
Your work handled on autopilot.
FacultyAide connects to the things that already hold your work (email, calendar, your papers and syllabi) and quietly takes care of the routine parts. You decide how much it can touch. You see everything before it goes out.
Connect what you already use
Start with one thing, say your calendar or a folder of your papers. Add email when you're comfortable. You pick what it can see, and you can switch any of it off.
It learns how you sound
It picks up how you write to students versus how you write to a program officer. It knows your syllabus, so it won't invent a late policy you never had.
It handles the small stuff
Sorting the inbox, drafting replies, finding a time that doesn't collide with office hours, pulling the right PDF, sketching the biosketch paragraph. It works while you're in class, or asleep.
You decide how much freedom it gets
At first it drafts and you approve everything. As you see what it gets right, you can let routine things go through on their own. Email from your address and changes to your website stay approve-first until you say otherwise.
It remembers, so you don't have to
What was decided, what's still open, what you promised to whom. When grant season, a new TA, or the committee comes back in January, nobody starts from zero.
What it can see, and what it can't
You choose which connections to turn on. It only works with what you connect, and only as automatically as you allow.
Reads threads, flags what's urgent, drafts replies in your voice, and lines up the ones you've okayed to send.
Calendar
Finds times that work, suggests holds, and warns you before you double-book office hours and a thesis defense.
Your files
Your papers, syllabi, notes, and procedures. Ask a question and get an answer from your own work, with a pointer to the source.
Your website
Drafts updates to your bio and publication list. Nothing goes live until you publish it.
What it won't do
It won't read anything you haven't connected. It won't send as you without your approval. It isn't wired into your grants office or your LMS, and it doesn't replace them.
Automatic where it's safe, yours where it counts.
Nobody wants another tool that needs babysitting. Nobody wants one that emails the dean on its own, either. So the low-risk stuff can run quickly once you trust it, and anything that goes out under your name waits for you.
- Low-risk prep (summaries, internal drafts, calendar options) can move quickly once you've seen it get things right.
- Email from your address, website changes, and anything involving policy stay approve-first.
- Early on, access starts conservative. Broader automation arrives as our product and policies are ready. See Trust for the plain version.
